Family Portraits

I had my friend Stephanie of Heppe Photography take our family photos this year. We do them annually in early April for the boys' birthdays. But this year, like last year, we had to reschedule a couple times due to cold temps and rain so they ended up being in late April.

Oh well, we finally had great weather and Stephanie did a wonderful job... especially with the boys running around like wild animals. Can't wait to get some prints ordered and update our frames around the house!

Trains and a Bouncy House

We sold our dining room table recently, but just haven't found the need to replace it yet. Instead, we moved the dusty train table upstairs from the basement (purchased from a garage sale last summer) to the dining room.

Miles is our "cars boy"... well, he loves pretty much any type of transportation, so he is a big fan of the train table. Neither of the boys are really into building the tracks but Miles loves to push all the train cars around. I'm glad to see the table getting some use now!

Something is missing here...

How tall is Miles?

And last weekend, we setup the new bouncy house outside. This was a birthday gift to both boys, but unfortunately Miles is completely afraid of it because of the blower noise. Our fearless child sometimes freaks out over the funniest noises!

The bouncy house had been in the basement, but we drug it outside for a day. Tyson jumped and jumped while Miles napped. It fits much better in our backyard than it does downstairs; it's too bad we can't keep it out there permanently!

Shooting some hoops

Hi Mom!

Note to self: next time, read the instructions and stake the bouncy house to the ground so it doesn't slip off the blower, deflating in on the terrified child jumping inside. OOPS.

Moon Sand

Welp, it's been a long and tiring weekend, so I'm going to keep this post short and sweet.

I found a recipe for Moon Sand (or Cloud Dough, whatever you want to call it) on Pinterest recently and decided to give it a shot with the boys. It was messy, had a cool texture, and of course they loved it! I didn't expect to have sand in all corners of the kitchen, but they managed to fling it every which way. It was worth it though, and the Moon Sand is safely stored away for another (outside?) time.

The day after the big birthday party, we had a very low-key Easter at home.

Here are the boys checking out their baskets and hunting for Easter eggs:

Love this shot - one still, one in motion

Goofy smile for Miles

Tyson found an egg!

Miles trying out his new bunny straw cup

And later, coloring eggs (yes, we were a little late doing this!):

Miles was having fun dropping the eggs into the water
