Trains in the Living Room

The boys decided that the train tracks didn't need to be confined to the train table, so they brought the pieces into the living room. They've had a ball reconfiguring them in many different ways and making the trains go on them (even Tyson, who normally isn't into trains).

We've left the pieces on the living room floor for a couple days now. I hate to move them back since they've provided hours of brother bonding time! But, I'm sort of tired of tripping over train pieces, so they may be moving back to their permanent home soon...

Sharing? Fighting? It's hard to say.

Pool Painting Playdate

Yesterday we had some friends over for a pool playdate. At the last minute, I decided to set up some painting stations outside too. There were quite a few kids (14, plus two babies) and I wanted to make sure they had plenty to do!

It was another scorching hot day so the pool and sprinkler were perfect. And the water activities made for a great way to wash off the paint when the kids were done.

That's not the kind of smile I was hoping for, Tyson

Miles always spends a lot of time at the snack table

We were all wiped out after almost three hours out in the heat. Miles took awhile to fall asleep for his nap (as usual, these days), but I think he would've slept all evening had I not woken him up before dinner. That's when you know it was a good day!
