Custom Watercolor Portraits

I just wanted to share a preview of some custom watercolor portraits I ordered from the very talented Crystalyn of Flavor Pink.

I think they're wonderful! I love her style and the quirky way she captures the kids' faces and personalities. Such neat renditions of the original pictures I sent her. She was great to work with too.

I can't wait for them to come in for the boys' birthdays! I have a spot at the end of the upstairs hallway (between the boys' bedrooms) where they will go. I highly recommend that you head on over to Flavor Pink to check out more of Crystalyn's work!

The Snowy Day

Finally! Some good snow to play in. That says a lot, coming from a warm weather-lover like me. But after a rough morning, the boys and I had a blast playing out in the snow... "sledding" on a tiny slope in our backyard, throwing snow balls, going down the slides, and building a snowman (that Tyson named "Twinkle Toes"). Fun times!

Love is in the Air

The kids are getting pretty excited for Valentine's Day! We hosted a playdate at our house where they decorated bags and exchanged valentines with their friends. I probably overdid it on the sugary treats, but that's hard to avoid this time of year. I think everyone had a fun time.

I just love planning kids' parties. I'm already working on the details for the boys' birthdays in April. Could I get a job doing that all the time?!

There are some healthy snacks hiding in the back ;-)

The chocolate chip cookie pops were a big hit (recipe courtesy of Glorious Treats)

Goofy kids!

Pom pom tissue flowers (idea from Design Dazzle)

Also, the kids' valentines are done. Swedish Fish for all! I got this cute idea from I Heart Naptime. Love it!

We have some decorated hearts hanging in the doorway to our sunroom, Lightning McQueen Valentine clings on the back door, and a heart wreath on the front door. It's so fun decorating for the holidays when the kids are really into it!

Taekwondo Belt Test

We're very proud of Tyson for "passing" his first Taekwondo belt test and breaking a board. He is now a yellow stripe. I'm hoping he continues with this because it's really good for him and we love the program and instructors. Way to go, Tyson!
